    Abstract

The finding of diffuse pulmonary calcification is reported in a 19-month-old female infant who died from an apparent viral pneumonia with systemic involvement due to varicella or herpes simplex infection. The observation is of interest because of the recently described occurrence of lung calcification following chickenpox in adults.
